Rachel Cruz-Herget is a positive, eager, motivating young face in the personal training industry. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Texas State University and has channeled her education and teachings with the clients she works with in an influential and effective manner. More specifically, Rachel excels at the most often overlooked components of true, long-lasting change when it comes to physical health and fitness; the behavioral and emotional aspect. Rachel’s main focus with training centers around engaging clients with the behavioral strategies and changes that are pivotal for achieving success with healthy fat loss and lean muscle gain.
Rachel understands that attaining optimal fitness is a journey, with ups and downs, no matter which way you look at it, no matter what anyone says. It is a challenge, and her passion is to find each individual client’s path of least resistance toward success. She will work with you on harnessing strengths, as well as honing in on potential “red flags” that may be plaguing your efforts in achieving the body you wish to have. She promotes regular participation with resistance training and cardiovascular exercise, while having a sound understanding of how goal-oriented nutrition should truly look, as oppose to applying a one-size fits all, cookie cutter diet program. Training with Rachel will not only provide you with results you desire, but also the tools and the mindset you need in order to maintain it for a lifetime.

Mike Groth, B.S., M.Ed., first became interested in training as he pursued his athletic career back in his hometown of Portland, ME, which included football, track, and baseball all 4 years of high school, followed by 2 years of NCAA Division 1 Track and Field and 4 years of NERFU Division 2 Rugby (formerly ranked #8 in the country) at the University of Maine. It was lifting and conditioning for these sports where Mike’s interest grew about training and the possibilities it brings to the individual. He began training at the age of 21 at a local gym in Cape Cod, MA between his junior and senior year of college, and continued training at the University of Maine Campus Recreation facility.
After graduating in 2008 with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science, he accepted a teaching assistantship scholarship to attend his Master's program at Texas, where he was a Weight Training Instructor for undergraduate students from September 2008-May 2010. During this same time period, he worked as a strength coach intern for the University of Texas Men’s and Women’s Basketball team under internationally recognized Perform Better Conference Summit speaker and head strength coach, Todd Wright. Working with elite athletes allowed him to adopt more effective training practices, especially in the realms of corrective exercise, fat loss, and strength training. During his internship, he was educated in and practiced Applied Functional Science, developed by Gary Gray, the founder of the Gray Institute of Functional Transformation, and widely considered one of the original leaders of the functional training movement.
Mike graduated in May of 2010 with a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology. After a 6 month stint at a commercial gym in South Austin, he opened his training business that he owns/operates today, Attainable Growth, LLC.
